Arabia will play in the 2034 World Cup, according to Infantino: Nothing brings people together more than soccer.

The FIFA president Gianni Infantino has confirmed this afternoon October 31, 2023 something that was imminent: the World Cup in Saudi Arabia in 2034.

After the Australian bid pulled out of the competition, Saudi Arabia will take the lead in 2030 as host nation, followed by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

He said on social media, under a picture of the World Cup, that “the greatest show on earth will be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and USA in 2026, Morocco, Spain, and Portugal in 2030, and Saudi Arabia in 2034.”

“After significant consultation and constructive conversation, the FIFA Council—representing all six confederations—approved the bidding processes by consensus.

“There is no sport that brings people together like football, and the FIFA World Cup is the ideal platform for spreading a message of inclusivity and togetherness while also serving as a powerful example of how people from diverse cultural backgrounds can work together to better understand and appreciate one another.

We demonstrate once more that soccer, the most popular sport in the world, brings people together more than anything else in an increasingly divided and violent world.

“We all need these occasions of unity and the upcoming FIFA World Cups provide a unique force for good in this regard.”

Only a short time after Qatar hosted the winter World Cup in 2022, Saudi Arabia will now host the competition.

FIFA was unsure whether soccer would remain popular in Saudi Arabia until 2034 and whether its current momentum would hold, but those worries seem to have been allayed.
