College Football Playoff bracket: Here’s what a 12-team playoff would look like after Week 10

Tuesday night saw the release of the second College Football Playoff rankings, and the top eight teams did not move. First place Ohio State ranks first, Georgia ranks second, Michigan ranks third, and Florida State ranks fourth.

The four-team playoff is coming to an end this year; next year, the bracket will include 12 teams and there will be four rounds of the playoffs instead of two.

The top six conference winners and the next six highest ranked teams would make up a 12-team field. With the Pac-12’s fundamental breakup, it will probably shift to five conference champions and seven at-large teams next year. In this exercise, the 6/6 model will be utilized.

The four highest conference winners, who are seeded first, advance to the quarterfinals with a bye.
