Born and raised in Batesville, Arkansas, Mallett attended U-M for his first year of college before moving to Arkansas (2008–2010) and becoming one of the team’s most decorated signal callers with over a dozen records.
The New England Patriots selected Mallett, who was regarded by some evaluators as a first-round NFL talent, with the 74th overall pick in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft. He played with New England for three seasons (2011–13), Houston for a portion of two years (2014–15), and Baltimore for the last three years of his playing career (2015–17).
