Mailbag of the New York Giants: The Injury Edition
This week, we have a brief mailbag, so let’s get right into what folks are thinking.

What’s up, Jonathan? Of the two, I feel more confident in John Michael Schmitz returning to action than Andrew Thomas. My guess is that Thomas is probably another week away from getting back on the field.

Mailbag: Observations heading into regular season

Ed. I should have my “why they’ll win/lose/prediction” piece written and released by tomorrow at the latest, but as of right now, I believe the Giants will prevail in a close game. Saquon Barkley will be crucial to the outcome, in my opinion, but before I can offer you a well-informed assessment, I must delve deeper into the analysis.

Jeff I’m too busy covering this team every day to look at the draft until after the season is over. However, later today, Brandon Olsen will release an extremely early mock draft exclusive to the Giants, in which he makes some suggestions about possible Giants quarterbacks. Check it out—the piece should be released at approximately 1 PM ET.

Groove, if Jones has to miss another game, yes, I believe the Giants will have to add another quarterback to the roster. This weekend figures to be DeVito’s third and final elevation from the practice squad and while they could gamble by exposing him to waivers, if Jones is going to be a while, it might behoove them to put him on IR, as he’d miss the next four games plus get the bye week to get his neck right. The only way I don’t see that happening though is if the Giants end up creating another roster spot via a transaction from elsewhere.
