BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea player has now suffered an injury setback, he won’t be back for weeks

According to reports, Reece James’ injury recuperation has now experienced a setback.

The club captain won’t be back in action until after the forthcoming international break, according to the Evening Standard.

James has been forced to watch from the sidelines for the majority of this season after suffering an injury in the first few days of the campaign.

He started and performed well in the opening game against Liverpool, but he was unable to practice the days afterward due to ongoing injury issues.

Before the current campaign began, the 23-year-old was elected captain, and it is obvious that he has had an effect on new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentinean has already called him the “perfect player” and will undoubtedly miss him during the season’s shaky first few weeks.

James is injured, which is a setback.
Since James’ injury, Malo Gusto has participated in every game and, until last weekend, had been cutting a remarkable figure.

The Frenchman was shown a red card for a strong challenge against Aston Villa, with the Blues going on to lose the game 1-0.

This will have left Pochettino scratching his head as to what to do as far as the right-back position goes. However, he may have stumbled across the perfect answer last night.

He elected to start Marc Cucurella in the position against his former side, with him not notably playing the role at this level up to now.

The Spaniard put in arguably his best performance in recent memory, particularly in the second half, and has made a case for himself to be involved again on Monday night against Fulham.
