SAD NEWS: Reading key midfielder will miss 2 matches due to international…..

Liam Moore, a defender for Reading FC, has sustained yet another injury while attempting to return to first-team action, and it now appears that it may have been his last for the squad.

Liam Moore’s chances of playing this season have been guaranteed by Reading FC boss Paul Ince following yet another injury setback.

As his contract with the team expires in June, it means the defender has likely played his last game for the organization.

The 30-year-old had wanted to play for the first team again after recovering from a knee injury that may have ended his career.

He was scheduled to play for Ince’s team in the FA Cup victory against Watford last month, but the day before the game, he suffered a hamstring injury. He has already hurt his foot after recuperating from that injury, and the manager intimated that the player probably won’t be seen wearing a Royals shirt this season.

“He’s had another setback, and I think that could mean Liam Moore [out] for the rest of the season, which is devastating news because he only played the other week for the U21s,” said Ince following Tuesday night’s 2-1 Championship victory over Rotherham United.

“I’ve never seen a professional footballer do everything and anything to get back and play for this football club. It’s sad, sad news but hopefully he can let his body rest and hoepfully go again next year.

Moore last played for Reading in December 2021 before being stripped of the club captaincy the following month and subsequently joining Stoke City on loan for the second half of last season.

In total, the former Leicester City centre-back has made 231 appearances for Royals since being signed by Jaap Stam in 2016. Owing to the club’s financial problems, however, coupled with the fact he is the club’s highest-earning player, a release in the summer is highly likely as he looks for a fresh start elsewhere
