Arsenal defeated AFC Bournemouth 4-0 Sunday to make it five victories in as many Premier League games. The Gunners dominated their opponents from the opening minute and are now one of the league’s only two unbeaten clubs.

Declan Rice, William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, and Bukayo Saka all overcame injury worries to get the start at the Vitality Stadium. However, Mikel Arteta had additional issues to handle as a result of their travel to the south.

Following Manchester City’s shocking 2-1 defeat against Wolves, the north Londoners are now only one point behind Pep Guardiola’s team heading into their matchup at the Emirates Stadium the following week.

Saka injury concern

Mikel Arteta has provided the latest on Bukayo Saka’s injury after he was forced to come off during Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Bournemouth. Midway through the second half with Arsenal three goals up Saka went down after being caught by the follow through while trying to block a shot from Milos Kerkez.

Saka was not the only injury concern on the day for Arsenal. Gabriel Jesus also appeared to pick up an injury late on in the game after the Gunners had made all five of their substitutions.

Jesus went down close to the Bournemouth goal and waited to receive treatment, but the game was restarted before the Arsenal physio could enter the pitch. Noticing the game had restarted Jesus then hopped up before jogging gingerly back towards his own half to help defend.

Now Arteta has provided the latest on both players in his post-match press conference. “I don’t [know] yet as I haven’t had a chance to speak to him,” the Spaniard said when asked about Saka’s injury and whether it was in the same area as the Spurs one. “I think it was a stamp in the same area but Gabi was limping as well after the game so let’s see how they are

Man City gain
Following midweek Champions League action, Pep Guardiola’s team will travel to the Emirates Stadium the following Sunday in what might be a pivotal early-season match in the title battle.

Additionally, a week before the match, Arsenal received a lift after Guardiola’s team lost 2-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Following Wednesday’s Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle, they have now lost two straight games for the first time since January thanks to the setback at Molineux.#
