Everton £4m payoff update emerges to sack Sean Dyche amid pressure at Goodison Park

It would cost Everton up to £4million if they want to sack Sean Dyche amid the growing pressure, according to the Daily Mail.

On page 77 of its print edition on Friday (22 September), the newspaper reported that there is a clause in the Toffees manager’s contract that means he is entitled to be paid up until the end of the season.

It added that the proposed new owners 777 Partners are admirers of the Englishman and that it is unclear whether there is anyone at Goodison Park who has the authority to fire him while the takeover is pending.

This is an extremely tough decision to have to make as the results haven’t been anywhere near good enough this season despite the performances not being too bad.

Dyche came in and saved the club from what looked to be certain relegation last season and will back himself to achieve that again during this campaign.

But is that really enough for the club the size of the Blues? It absolutely isn’t and matters do need to improve on the pitch quickly, otherwise, he could be in trouble.

The likelihood is that he will get at least a few more games to try and turn things around after what he achieved in the second half of last season.

It’s unknown who would make that decision, though, as 777 Partners don’t really have the authority yet and Farhad Moshiri probably wouldn’t want to pull the trigger and cause more uncertainty. Time will tell.
