Nicolo Zaniolo, a star for Aston Villa and Italy, has responded to detractors by criticizing the media’s portrayal of him as unrespectful to people around him.
Zaniolo just moved from Galatasaray to Villa after moving there from Roma in January.
The footballer was forced to return to his hometown before he left the Giallorossi as a result of banners against him being exhibited by Roma supporters, who also showed up outside his home.Zaniolo performed admirably against Ukraine after receiving negative feedback over his performance against North Macedonia. He discussed with TMW whether the match against Ukraine could serve as a new beginning for him after the game. The Italian said: “I don’t think I’ve ever stopped. I always do what the coach asks of me and I always make myself available. Many times I’m labeled by you as a person who doesn’t show respect outside the pitch but that’s not the case. Absolutely, I always make myself available and it’s always been like this in all the teams I’ve played for. I’m really happy with this match and I don’t feel like talking about the rest.”
He was also questioned regarding the ideal position for him and his future, which is on the right wing. I can play as a winger, attacking midfielder, or midfielder, he claimed. But at the moment, this is the position I am best suited for. I still have room for improvement, but thanks to the coach, who taught me a lot about the defensive and attacking phases of a game, I felt at ease. With this performance, I’m pleased.
Zaniolo has already played twice for Aston Villa and made his debut, although he hasn’t really made an impression. But as the season progresses, we might see more brilliant moments from him.
