Neil Lennon says the best thing Michael Beale can do right now as Rangers boss is to chill out for a bit and forget about the derby disaster against Celtic on Sunday.

The Englishman is facing mounting pressure from the Gers fanbase as his side fell to defeat against their arch-rivals in Govan. Boos rang around Ibrox during and after the game as Beale faces an almighty challenge in the next weeks and months to win back the support of the fans.

Rangers have lost two of their opening four Premiership games already this season and crashed out of the Champions League play-off stage by PSV, who humiliated Gers in Eindhoven last week. It was dubbed the biggest week of Beale’s managerial stint at Rangers so far and Celtic hero Lennon – speaking on PLZ Soccer – said it has ended in complete “failure.”

“I don’t know how many will be in the international teams but he should have a good group of players to work with. Get them instilled with a style that he wants or what he thinks is the best way forward for them.

“And just work it through. Just cut out the noise because it’ll be coming at him from all angles – we’ve all been there. It’s not easy but he has to find some character within himself as well.

“It’s alright saying things but he has to show the Rangers public that he can actually deliver these things as well.”
