BARCELONA HAVE MADE CONTACT TO SIGN 27-YEAR-OLD TOTTENHAM PLAYER

Barcelona continue to chase Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso with contacts made in the last few days.

Giovani Lo Celso is still wanted at Barcelona but they are struggling to make room for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

That is according to Spanish reporter Gerard Romero through Jijantes FC, who reports that Barcelona have initiated new talks over Lo Celso in ‘recent days’.

It’s suggested that Lo Celso’s entourage have been contacted over a potential move to the Camp Nou.

The problem is that Barcelona are really struggling to move players out of the club and make room for Lo Celso.

Barcelona have been famously up against it financially in recent years and bringing in new players requires military precision.

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Clement Lenglet is one player who can leave whilst youngster Abde Ezzalzouli could leave.

Even with Franck Kessie gone, Barca are still struggling – and with Joao Cancelo the top target, Lo Celso’s potential move to the Camp Nou is in limbo.

Giovani Lo Celso’s Tottenham Hotspur future remains unclear

Lo Celso spent the last season-and-a-half on loan at Villarreal and returned to Tottenham this summer with many expecting him to go.

Ange Postecoglou gave Lo Celso chances to shine in pre-season and he certainly impressed, appearing to be a great fit under Postecoglou.

Tottenham’s new boss suggested in late July that he was happy with Lo Celso and played down any notion of him being available.

The 27-year-old looked primed for a bigger role at Spurs but he hasn’t played a single minute in Tottenham’s first tow Premier League games of the season.

That means the rumours are sparking up again with Barcelona the main suitors late.

AS reporter Javi Miguel reported last month that Xavi has specifically asked Barcelona to sign Cancelo and Lo Celso.

The story was the same then though; that Barcelona just didn’t have room to sign them.

Tottenham may well consider Lo Celso’s future if Barcelona can actually formulate an offer, with the midfielder surely baffled by his lack of action in the first two games of the campaign.
