Tyler Adams closes in on Leeds United exit as Bournemouth agree fee

Tyler Adams looks set to finally be headed for the Elland Road exit door after Bournemouth agreed a fee, believed to

be in the region of £23million plus add-ons, to sign the Leeds United midfielder.

The USMNT star is now headed down south for a medical ahead of signing for the Cherries and returning to the

Premier League following Leeds’ relegation last term.

Adams’ departure from Elland Road has long been expected, ever since it was revealed he had a £20million

relegation release clause in his contract.

Chelsea saw enough in Adams’ one season in the top flight with Leeds to trigger that release clause but the move fell

through over fears of how long a hamstring injury, that has sidelined him since March, would take to recover.

The Blues’ bid to sign Adams, though, alerted other clubs to his release clause and that prompted Bournemouth to

make their initial move earlier this week.

Adams’ clause expired on Wednesday and the Cherries thought they had triggered it prior to that deadline. Leeds,

however, said they hadn’t, throwing any move into doubt

But the two sides have finally come to an agreement and, all being well with the medical, Adams will become a

Bournemouth player by the weekend.

It will hand Daniel Farke some vital funds as he looks to bolster Leeds’ squad depth between now and the end of the

transfer window.Chelsea reportedly close to signing USMNT's Tyler Adams

Adams will be Leeds’ 12th first team departure this summer and given they have only signed four players so far this

window, they desperately need to boost their options.
