EXCLUSIVE: A Tottenham Hotspur superfan says women can be just as dedicated as male football fans after she showed off her Spurs inspired ink for the first time

A Tottenham Hotspur fan says it’s “not just men” that get tattoos of their favourite football teams.

Davina Pindoria lives just half an hour from White Hart Lane – and she wanted to show how much the North London club means to her.

The financial consultant did so by getting Spurs’ famous Audere est Facere (To Dare is to Do) slogan inked to her ribs in dainty italic writing.

She said going to such an extreme has surprised other footie fans.I love Spurs so much I got tattoo to prove it – it's not just blokes that do it' - Daily Star

Speaking exclusively with Daily Star, the 23-year-old season ticket holder said: “I knew that I always wanted the tattoo but growing up as a female football fan we get a lot of stick on social media.

“It’s like, ‘oh are you a true fan’ or ‘why don’t you change teams’ which is unheard of to say to a male football fan.

“It’s not just men who care about their football clubs so much that they get a slogan tattooed on them that is there for ever. This is how much it means to me. It is a massive part of my life.

“I spend every weekend going to games and I spend a massive amount of time on Twitter following what my club is doing on and off the pitch. It should be part of my identity.”

As for the response so far, the Lilywhite supporter added: “I have had quite positive reactions, like ‘oh you are that big of a fan’. I go to games every week, I go to some away games too and I make sure I plan my life around when Tottenham are playing.

“My mood is so affected by it and I think I get more of a positive reaction to me being a female football fan because I have the tattoo. It is like a seal of dedication that I actually got it tattooed on me.davina

“Some people who don’t watch football look and say ‘oh you are going to regret that’ and to change teams but that is never going to happen, Spurs is like a chosen religion.”

Davina shared the ink on Twitter after another social media user asked why men got tattoos of football teams.

And she even hopes to get a second Spurs related tattoo in the future – this time ‘1882’ in Italics, the year the club was founded.

As for why she went for the slogan rather than the crest, she said: “I knew I wanted ‘To Dare is to Do’ in Latin.

“Mainly because I think it’s a brilliant slogan, it does embody Tottenham’s ambition. We have never been always up there, always winning, but we’ve played with pride and had the motivation to compete.

“But it is something I took into my day to day life as well, I am a big advocate of working hard and that success will show through.”

As for how she fell in love with Tottenham Hotspur, she added: “I have supported them since I was born thanks to my dad, so there was no choice there.

“I really enjoyed it growing up and as a girl I really could have lost interest but it’s a testament to my dad who took me to games and I really enjoyed it and stuck with it.”

She said the response on Twitter was overwhelming with the picture of her tattoo being viewed more than 365,000 times.

Other fans, including women, responded with their own Spurs tattoos, with many proudly unveiling the same slogan.

As for what success could look like for Spurs without Harry Kane, Davina, who cheers on the players from the huge south stand, concluded: “I think a good season for us is a top six finish.I love Spurs so much I got tattoo to prove it – it's not just blokes that do it' - Daily Star

“I am not going to say top four because I am aware of how well other teams have strengthened.

“So top six and I want us to have a really good go in the cups given we are not in the Champions League so don’t have to worry about fixture congestion.

“Just bringing back that connection with the fans which we saw against Brentford.

“Having that cohesion, belief, the players looked happy and just that free flowing attacking football that we loved in the Poch era.”
