Alvery Orlean “Orky” Kerr, 94, departed away quietly at Campbell House Hospice on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Karen (Rick) Redpath, John (Terry), Bob (Teresa), and David Kerr all cherished him as their father. A loving grandfather who will always be remembered by Sydney (Hayden), Rebecca (Ben), Jamie-Lynn (Scott), Garrett, Adam, Brad, and Chris; also a great-grandfather to Jack, Tyson, and Brent.

He was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie (Charlie) Koebel, brother Bev (Bernice) Kerr, and cherished wife of 67 years, Helen “Bear.”

Orky loved sports; he was a talented all-around athlete who was particularly good in baseball and hockey. His legacy will endure at the Kerr Family Cottage in Oliphant, which he constructed in 1957 and where family customs and memories were made. Orky’s contagious smile and his habit of reading stories, limericks, and poetry will always bring back memories.

At Oliphant’s Balsam Grove Cemetery, a private graveside service will take place. There will be a memorial service and celebration of life later. The family would appreciate donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House in place of flowers. Friends may go to www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com to view Orky’s digital Book of Memories.
