According to sources in Sweden, Derby County and Swedish international goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom have agreed on a deal.

According to Expressen, Djurgårdens and the Rams have reached an agreement that, with add-ons, may total over £1.4 million. As a result, it appears like the 26-year-old will soon be moving to Pride Park.

Since Joe Wildsmith left, Derby has been in need of a new goalie.

The announcement that a sum has been agreed upon with Djurgårdens IF, however, appears to be a major coup for Paul Warne’s side and should allay fears at Pride Park.

The signing of Jacob Widell Zetterstrom has thrilled Derby County supporters.

After Derby’s protracted hunt for a new goalie, Shaun Woodward of FLW, who is a Derby County fan pundit, thinks Zetterstrom would be worth the wait and is pleased about it.

Shaun stated, “If we can get Zetterstrom in, it’s definitely worth the gamble,” in an interview with Football League World.

“Warne must have been informed behind closed doors that he is signing, so even though he still

has these Europa League qualifying games left,

I believe that if he is content to wait a few weeks, it’s because he believes he has already signed.”He would be a fantastic addition to our team.

He is a huge beast of a player who will provide us presence at the back. He is 6 feet 6 inches, has played in Europe, and represents his nation.

“I understand it was just a friendly, but we could really use someone to cheer us on back there

following yesterday night’s match against Chesterfield.

“He seems like a big-name addition who would significantly improve the squad, and I’m excited to watch him play.

It’s not the end of the world if he doesn’t play; in the worst case, we have Vickers, who’s a decent goalie, so if we had to stay with him, we’d only need a backup. He’s absolutely worth the wait.

“However, he appears to be an incredible signing who is well worth the wait.”
