In response to Edin Terzic’s departure, Alexander Meyer stated that he had picked up a lot of knowledge from the former head coach of Borussia Dortmund.

Last month, Edin Terzic abruptly resigned from Borussia Dortmund, only two weeks after leading the team to victory in the UEFA Champions League final. Everyone was taken aback by the 41-year-old’s action, and Alexander Meyer has since voiced his opinion.

Alexander Meyer: Edin Terzic taught me a lot.

Meyer added, “I thanked Edin for the two years over the phone,” as reported by Ruhr Nachrichten. “He came very close to winning the Champions League final and the Bundesliga. Not much that I would say he did wrong. Naturally, I was able to learn a lot, so I just thanked him.”

Meyer, who moved to Borussia Dortmund from Jahn Regensburg in 2022, also shared his opinions on Nuri Sahin, the team’s recently hired head coach. The backup goalkeeper is excited for the upcoming campaign, which will be led by the former BVB midfield player.

“Nuri has been in our lives for six months. But being the head coach or the assistant coach always means something different. He’s coming in full of enthusiasm. I believe he is overjoyed that he has taken on this role and that the organization has confidence in him.”

On Friday, Borussia Dortmund defeated the DEW-21 squad 7-1 to mark Sahin’s debut as head coach. Marcel Lotka came on to the field in the first half, replacing Alexander Meyer.
